“stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.” – Philippians 4:1
The season of Lent is a time of repentance, of turning to God and seeking renewal in the Spirit. We spend 40 days examining our lives and remembering that we are rooted in God.
When we talk about putting down roots, we are usually saying we have chosen to make a particular place our home, to develop the relationships and connections which nurture life. While we may root ourselves in a physical location, our deepest roots are in relationship and community. They are in God. Throughout Lent, we explore the ways we nurture our roots and the ways our roots sustain us, even when we have forgotten they are there. God brings us nourished life so that we may stand firm as beloved children of God.
We begin our Lenten worship at 7:00 pm on Ash Wednesday, March 6. Our worship will continue each Sunday at 10:00 am. Join us as we grow and learn, embedding our roots deeper into our faith.
